New ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX531.World's Slimmest and Coolest gaming laptop.

ASUS finally made a beast with proper thermals and sleek design (ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS GX531). It was really annoying to tweak the thermals with throttle stop or xtu after getting a 2000$ laptop. But now those days are gone, thanks to Zephyrus S (GX531). This time ASUS has done a really good job, maintaining the good thermals with ultimate design. So lets see what we got inside and outside of Zephyrus S.

The ROG Zephyrus S has same look and few features as GX501(which is 1000$ more costlier than GX531). This time they used an CNC alloy metal for exterior built which is a great plus point for durability. It got an dual tone lid with ASUS logo which is not rgb and not configurable with aura software.

At just 14-15mm thick, about 3-4mm thinner than the GX501. It got an uprising lift, you will notice at the time of opening the lid, to provide the better thermals. Its a huge plus point, rather than using a cooler pad 1 inch lift is good though

The Zephyrus S got a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS-level display. Despite the screen size, the chassis is really only 14.2-inches. Cause ASUS reduced the overall bezels of the display. And upgraded the screen to 144hz, 3ms panel. The original Zephyrus only had a 120hz panel.
With the new configuration, games and visuals are a quite smoother and flawless. The quality itself is also impressive, colors pop-out and accuracy is on point. In terms of screen type it got a TN panel instead of IPS panel, its a little bit downside cause viewing angles are not that great as compared to IPS panels.

So this laptop got a keyboard layout that’s shifted downward, much like what we had with the original Zephyrus. It has a trackpad on the right side, which is little awkward for left hand users. The numkeys are inbuilt within trackpad which you can operate with touch.

In terms of Gaming It now has an 8th Gen Core i7-8750H processor and NVidia GTX 1060 GPU. It comes with 2 models, a full GTX 1060 6gb ddr5 and a 1070 MAX Q 8gb ddr5.

With the change to a GTX 1060, the cooling system will be able to handle heat management better.

In terms of thermals it got 4 heat pipes for separate heat sinks, so temps are quite cool, users don't have to care about thermals this time. They can just plug and play carefree..

In terms of ports we have a USB Type-C, DC-IN, 3.5mm combo audio port, and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the left. While On the right, we have another USB Type-C and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A. And at the back we have hdmi 2.0 and k.lock.
